City Plumbing to Hold Football Tournament for Teenage Cancer Trust
Plumbing and heating merchant, City Plumbing, is gearing up to host a charity five-a-side football tournament on Saturday for Teenage Cancer Trust, June 8th at Goals Leicester. The company and its parent company, Highbourne Group, will be fielding 16 teams, composed of staff, suppliers, and senior leadership. The event, which will also feature food, competitions, and prizes, aims to raise funds for their charity partner, the Teenage Cancer Trust, adding to the £3 million the merchant has already contributed.
The public is welcome to attend the event, which starts at 9am, to watch the tournament, support the cause, and participate in the various competitions and a raffle.
A silent auction will be held, featuring items like a signed Manchester United football and a voucher for four to play at Tenby Golf course. A raffle will also offer attendees a chance to win prizes such as a £250 hotel break voucher, a Samsung projector worth over £600, and a fifth-generation Apple iPad. In total, there are over 30 prizes up for grabs.
Raffle tickets are priced at £5 each or 3 for £10 and can be purchased via City Plumbing’s Just Giving page. A suggested donation of £2 per adult is requested for those attending to watch the tournament, with children admitted for free.
Kelsey Toon from City Plumbing, who has spearheaded the event's organisation, expressed her enthusiasm: “We’re really excited about the tournament. It’s a fun and enjoyable way to raise crucial funds for a very important charity. So far, Highbourne Group has raised over £3m for the Teenage Cancer Trust, and with this event, we hope to add as much as possible to that total for this wonderful cause.
“From team entries alone, we’ve already raised more than £1,000, and we’ve been overwhelmed with donations of fantastic prizes for the raffle to help raise money. Anyone who would like to come along and show their support for the teams and the charity is more than welcome, and we have some amazing prizes on offer. Let’s just hope the weather is on our side!”
